Just like a new pair of dress shoes needs a little time to break in, your new mattress may also require an adjustment period. This is especially true if you are switching comfort levels or moving from a spring mattress to a foam one. We recommend sleeping on your new mattress for at least 30-45 days to give your body plenty of time to adapt. 

Mattresses purchased directly from Stearns & Foster (online or by phone) come with a 90-night trial. We recommend trying out your new mattress for at least 30 days to allow it to adjust and soften to its true feel. 

If you need to return or exchange your mattress within the 90-night trial period, you only pay $175 shipping (plus tax), plus or minus any price difference on models or feel preference. If you choose to return your mattress for a full refund, you will be refunded the full amount paid minus the return shipping fee. If you exchange for a different feel within the same mattress model, there could be a price difference, plus the added shipping fee. If you choose to upgrade to a more advanced model, you would pay the return shipping fee plus the difference in price. If you choose to swap for a lower-priced model, you would be refunded the difference in cost minus the return shipping fee. 

Please note that if you purchased your Stearns & Foster mattress from a retail store that carries our products, your purchase is subject to the return and exchange policies of that retailer. Our retailers have different promotions, policies, and procedures than we do, so it is best to reach out to the location you purchased from to discuss your purchase and what options are available to you.
